Urla–İçmeler is the strongest XPTurk option for travelers who want windsurfing or kitesurfing without building the whole trip around a major surf resort. It works particularly well for İzmir-based day trips, structured lessons, club-style progression, rental and equipment storage.

The İzmir Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism explicitly lists Urla–İçmeler among the province’s windsurfing and kitesurfing areas and notes that local sport courses/parkours are selected and announced annually. This makes the current designated area—not a generic beach map—the correct starting point.

Urla also has active club and training infrastructure. Türkiye Yelken Federasyonu held multiple 2026 Uçurtma Sörfü Eğitmeni courses in Urla, while current Urla clubs advertise windsurf and kitesurf training, rental and storage.

Official İzmir tourism information says the courses/parkours for windsurfing and kitesurfing are selected and announced annually at the start of the tourism season. That means a beach used in a previous year should not automatically be treated as the current authorized or preferred operating area.
